An interest-free loan in Hyderabad comes from one verifiable source: Seva Mutually Aided Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd, an affiliate of the Sahulat Microfinance Society network, which sahulat.org lists with four city branches at Charminar, Falaknuma, MS Maqta and Tolichowki under chairman Shaik Abdul Hakim. There is no bank or NBFC alternative, and the Al-Khair and Bait-Un-Nas'r societies that other Indian cities rely on do not operate here. For investing, Hyderabad is unusually well served: SenSage Financial Services and Vivekam Financial Services, two SEBI-registered advisers with Shariah products, are both headquartered in the city. This guide maps the city by need, quoting only what each institution publishes, and starts with the personal financing hub for the borrowing side.

Interest-free credit societies in Hyderabad, verified through Sahulat
Sahulat Microfinance Society, registered in New Delhi under the Societies Registration Act 1860, is the national body that promotes interest-free credit co-operatives and lists its affiliates state by state. Its Telangana list, fetched on 14 September 2026, names nine: Seva in Adilabad, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mehboobnagar, Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Warangal, and Khidmat in Medak. The Hyderabad entry is the only one with branch detail: Seva Mutually Aided Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd, Hyderabad, with branch managers Mohammed Noor Ahmed at Charminar, Sirajuddin at Falaknuma, Mohammed Sardar Pasha at MS Maqta and Syed Mohammed Ali Hussain at Tolichowki. The Rangareddy and Medak pages were empty when we fetched them.
The 'mutually aided' in the name is a legal term. Sahulat's cooperative laws section lists the Telangana Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies Act 1995 (TMACSA) as the governing statute for the state, which is the Telangana continuation of the Andhra Pradesh Act of the same name and year. A society registered under it is a member-owned body that takes no government share capital and is not a bank; Sahulat's advisory section carries both its own advisory and an RBI circular telling affiliates not to use the word 'bank'. Deposits with it are not covered by DICGC insurance, and our guide to co-operative deposit safety explains what that means before you leave savings there.
Sahulat runs a regional office in Hyderabad with a regional coordinator, Iqbal Hussain, and a manager of operations, Uwaish Husain, whose published email addresses use the sahulathyd.org domain. One warning: when we fetched sahulathyd.org on 14 September 2026 it served unrelated gambling spam rather than any Sahulat content, so do not trust a site at that address, and reach the regional office through the contact details on sahulat.org instead. We found no official website for Seva Hyderabad itself; its products, charges and membership terms are not published online and must be obtained at a branch.
What to expect from a Sahulat-model society
Because Seva Hyderabad publishes nothing, the honest way to describe it is through the model it belongs to. Sahulat's own description of the model, quoting Dr Mohammad Nejatullah Siddiqi, is a credit society 'created by its members for pooling their funds, managing their withdrawal demands and creating loanable funds therefrom', with members 'mutually sharing the operational cost'. In practice that means membership through share capital, a daily or monthly deposit account, and loans to members charged a service fee that covers operating cost rather than interest. Sahulat's network figures to 31 March 2025 give the scale: 14 states, 122 branches, more than 400,000 beneficiaries, Rs 641 crore disbursed cumulatively, Rs 49.29 crore of share capital and Rs 388 crore of deposit balances across affiliates.
- Expect to buy shares and pay an admission fee before any loan; the amounts at Seva are not published and should be asked for in writing.
- Expect a waiting period of regular deposits before you are loan-eligible; Al-Khair's published rule elsewhere in the network is three months, and Seva's own rule is unknown.
- Expect a one-time service charge quoted as a percentage of the loan; ask for the percentage, the tenure and whether GST is added, and annualise it yourself by dividing the charge by the tenure in months and multiplying by twelve.
- Expect guarantors who are themselves members, and possibly a security item for larger amounts.
- Do not expect online application, and treat any phone call offering an 'Islamic loan' in Hyderabad as fraud unless you initiated contact at a branch.
Investing from Hyderabad: SenSage and Vivekam
SenSage Financial Services is registered with SEBI as a non-individual investment adviser under INA200000027, with its registered office at Flat 102, Fortune Heights, Shantinagar, a second Hyderabad office at Office 302 in the same locality, and a Mumbai office in Andheri West. Its site presents three Shariah portfolios: Shariah Compounder, a thematic portfolio; SenSage i25, a large-cap portfolio; and Power of 3 ETFs, a portfolio of Shariah-compliant ETFs. It also offers goal-based planning for education, marriage and retirement. The site does not print a minimum; its contact page says it welcomes 'fee-paying clients with any amount', and our separate SenSage review sets out the entry points we were given, in the Rs 1 to 3 lakh range, which you should confirm directly.
Vivekam Financial Services, a SEBI-registered investment adviser set up in 2010 and headquartered at Plot 57, Road 71, Jubilee Hills, publishes its minimums. Its Shariah Growth lumpsum product and Shariah SMILES monthly product use only stocks approved by TASIS in Mumbai, with sectors such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco and firearms excluded and a filter on earnings from certain internet-based transactions. The minimum is Rs 50,000 for Shariah Growth and Rs 5,000 a month for Shariah SMILES. Vivekam's model is customised at client level and divides lumpsum entries into four tranches; dividends go to your own bank account. One caveat from its own product page: cash from sales in its non-Shariah products is parked in Liquid BeES between quarters, and you should ask in writing where idle cash sits in the Shariah version.
For someone who does not want an adviser at all, the products available anywhere in India are available in Hyderabad through any broker or distributor: Tata Ethical Fund, Taurus Ethical Fund, Nippon India ETF Nifty 50 Shariah BeES and the Shariah smallcases. The investing hub lists them, and the choice between a Hyderabad adviser and a do-it-yourself fund is mostly about whether you want TASIS-screened direct stocks, which Vivekam provides from Rs 5,000 a month, or a pooled fund.
Business finance for Telangana traders, and the Mudra question
A Hyderabad trader looking for an interest-free business loan has fewer published options than a Patna or Mumbai trader. Al-Khair's website states its operating states as Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, so it is not available here. Janseva's membership page lists its operational areas as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal; Telangana is not named, and the list appears to predate the state's creation, so ask Janseva directly whether a Hyderabad resident can join under the Andhra Pradesh entry. That leaves the Seva societies, whose business products are unpublished, and the structures a trader can arrange without a lender. Our comparison of interest-free business loans covers both.
The Mudra question comes up in every Telangana trader forum because bank branches push it. A Mudra loan is an interest loan from a bank or NBFC with a government guarantee behind it; the guarantee does not change the contract, and the official mudra.org.in site was returning server errors when we tried to fetch its terms on 14 September 2026. The halal routes are supplier credit on fixed-price invoices, customer advances, a murabaha-style purchase through an investor, and profit-sharing capital, all of which the business financing hub describes.
Banking: current accounts and what to do with savings interest
Hyderabad has no Islamic bank because India has none, and the city's banking question is the same as everywhere else in the country: how to hold money at a bank without taking interest. The clean answer is a current account, which pays nothing and is available at every bank branch in the city; our current account guide explains the minimum balance trade-off. If you hold a savings account, the interest credited must be given away to the poor without expecting reward, and our savings account interest guide describes how Indian Muslims actually do it. Seva's deposit accounts are the interest-free alternative for small sums, with the protection gap already noted.
Zakat in the city
We could not verify a Hyderabad-based zakat institution with a published, auditable process on 14 September 2026, and we will not name one on the strength of reputation alone. Direct giving to eligible recipients in your own locality remains the preferred route in fiqh and needs no institution. For a giver who wants documentation or wants to reach verified cases outside the city, the two platforms the edition has reviewed, IndiaZakat and Zakat Foundation of India, accept online payment from Hyderabad as from anywhere, and the zakat hub on this site carries the calculator and both reviews.

The decision
A Hyderabad Muslim who needs to borrow should go to a Seva branch in person, join, run a deposit account, and get the service charge quote in writing, because that is the only interest-free lender in the city and nothing about it is published. Someone who needs to invest is better off than in most Indian cities: Vivekam's Rs 5,000-a-month TASIS-screened SIP is the most accessible direct-equity Shariah product in the country and it is run from Jubilee Hills, and SenSage offers a Shariah-only advisory practice a few kilometres away in Shantinagar. Someone who needs to bank should open a current account and purify any savings interest, as elsewhere.
The honest gap is scale. Hyderabad has one of India's largest urban Muslim populations and no society with Bait-Un-Nas'r's nine branches or Al-Khair's printed charges; Seva's four branches and unpublished terms are what exists, and our Mumbai guide shows what a mature city network looks like by comparison. The providers directory lists every institution we have verified nationally, and we will add Seva Hyderabad as a profile when it publishes terms we can check. Facts checked against sahulat.org, sensageonline.com, vivekam.co.in, alkhairsociety.com, janseva.in on 14 September 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get an interest free loan in Hyderabad?
From Seva Mutually Aided Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd, a Sahulat Microfinance Society affiliate with branches at Charminar, Falaknuma, MS Maqta and Tolichowki according to sahulat.org. You must become a member and run a deposit account first, and loans carry a service charge rather than interest. Its terms are not published online, so get them in writing at a branch. No bank or NBFC offers one.
Is there an Islamic bank in Hyderabad?
No. India has no licensed Islamic bank and the RBI has not permitted one, so Hyderabad has none either. The interest-free institutions in the city are member co-operatives under the Telangana Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies Act 1995, which are not banks, may not use the word, and are not covered by DICGC deposit insurance. For banking itself, a current account at any bank is the interest-free option.
Who is a Shariah investment adviser in Hyderabad?
Two SEBI-registered advisers are headquartered in the city. Vivekam Financial Services in Jubilee Hills runs Shariah Growth from Rs 50,000 and Shariah SMILES from Rs 5,000 a month using TASIS-approved stocks. SenSage Financial Services in Shantinagar, registered as INA200000027, runs Shariah Compounder, SenSage i25 and a Power of 3 ETFs portfolio and says it accepts fee-paying clients with any amount.
Can a Telangana trader get a halal business loan?
Only through a Seva society, whose business products are unpublished, or through structures that need no lender: supplier credit on fixed-price invoices, customer advances, a murabaha-style purchase through an investor, or profit-sharing capital. Al-Khair does not operate in Telangana, and Janseva's published state list does not name it. Mudra loans are interest loans with a government guarantee and do not qualify.
Are deposits with a Hyderabad co-operative society safe?
They are not insured. DICGC covers bank deposits only, and a mutually aided co-operative society is not a bank. Your protection is the society's own governance, audit and reserves, which Seva Hyderabad does not publish online. Keep emergency money in a bank current account, use the society for the deposits you need to qualify for a loan, and ask to see the latest audited accounts before leaving larger sums.

Is the Sahulat Hyderabad regional office website genuine?
Treat it with caution. Sahulat's regional office staff use email addresses on the sahulathyd.org domain, but when we fetched that domain on 14 September 2026 it served unrelated gambling spam, not Sahulat content. Use the regional office contacts and the Telangana affiliate pages on sahulat.org, the national site, and verify any Hyderabad society through that route or by visiting the branch.
